Is losing one pound per day really possible? With all the diets popping out promising to get faster results in the shortest time possible, a lot of people have been drawn to the idea of losing weight the fastest and easiest way possible and the result varies from person to person.
In order to lose one pound a person must have a deficit of 3500 calories, so if you are trying to lose one pound per day you should burn 3500 more calories than what you consume. A person's metabolic rate determines the rate at which the body burns calories.

Experts say that the ideal rate to lose weight is 2 pounds per week, the slower the weight loss the better. Losing more than the ideal rate could be very dangerous.
